Padel's plumbing is already consolidated. That is the opportunity, not the obstacle.

Three companies run the booking systems that nearly every padel club in the world sits on. PerCorner does not compete with them — it reads them. Build the connection once and every club on that rail becomes addressable, without asking a single one of them to change how they take a booking.

Who owns the rail

Three systems, and they are not close to each other in size

Every figure below is attributed. Where a number is a company's own claim, or our own estimate, it says so — because the difference matters when you are deciding which rail to build next.

By far the largest, and the one that decides whether this is a UK product or an international one. Its own player app already books across clubs, so the players are used to a layer above the club.

The smallest of the three and the one where the product is actually running. Everything PerCorner claims to do, it does here, on a real club's real money.

Live at Beaulieu Padel

Sources. Playtomic's club, player and country counts, and the ~80% UK share, are our own research and the UK share is an estimate — treat it as a working figure, not a published one. MatchPoint's 1,400 clubs is what MatchPoint told us directly. Padel Mates' 300 clubs is their own public claim; the ~111,000 players is our own working figure and has not been confirmed by them. Every PerCorner figure — bookings, payment records, last read — is counted out of the live database on 16 August 2026 and moves as the data moves.

The shape of the business

One connection, then every club behind it

  • The club changes nothing. It keeps its booking system, its courts, its prices and its members. PerCorner reads what is already there.
  • Nobody has to rip anything out. That is the single biggest reason club software does not get bought — and it does not apply to us.
  • The work is per rail, not per club. Connecting a second Padel Mates club is a day. Connecting the first Playtomic club is a week. Connecting the four-hundredth is an afternoon.
  • The rails want this. All three publish a way to read club data and none of them offer what sits on top: a member-facing assistant, retention, and a rating that follows the player between clubs.
  • None of the three lets a club act on its own data. They are read-only by design — you can see who booked, but nothing chases the member who quietly stopped coming. That gap is the whole product.
  • A player rating that crosses clubs needs exactly this position. Sitting above three booking systems is the only place a single rating can exist, and it is the part a rail cannot copy without becoming the other two.
  • The order is deliberate. Prove it on the smallest rail where we have full access, take the introduction on the middle one, then go at the incumbent with two live references rather than a deck.
Being precise about it

What is proven on each rail, and what is not

The honest version. A connection that reads live data is a different thing from a club that has signed, and both are different from a rail we have not touched.

RailThe connectionThe clubWhat is still open
Padel Mates Live in production. Members, court diary, payments, memberships and staff, refreshed continuously. Beaulieu Padel, Chelmsford. Data agreement signed 6 August. 5,041 people, 8,780 court sessions and 26,742 payment records held today. Commercial terms. The product is live; the contract is not signed.
MatchPoint Built and reading live. 3,768 court bookings held, 3,479 carrying the players' names, last read today. Running against a real MatchPoint club, not a mock. None yet. Brentwood Padel Club was to be the pilot and fell through on a partnership disagreement with the owner — not on the technology, which had already been connected. Stratford is the target pilot and is in discussion with the manager. Separately, MatchPoint want to see the full dashboard.
Playtomic Not built. Their access is documented and self-serve from the club's own settings, and the interface it would plug into already exists. Roughly a week of work. Carbon Padel — on Playtomic, and the first real test of this rail. Everything. This is the honest gap, and it is the one that decides the size of the company.

One caveat stated plainly, because it will come up in diligence. Padel Mates and MatchPoint are each connected by purpose-built code, not through a single universal connector. A shared interface for all three exists and the three connectors are registered against it, but only the shape is agreed — the Playtomic one still has to be written. We are two rails proven and one to build, not three rails already solved.

The arithmetic

What each rail is worth if we take even a slice of it

Reach, not forecast. These are the clubs that become reachable once a rail is connected — what converts is a sales question, and the revenue model is the page that answers it.

RailClubs reachableAt 1%At 5%How we would get there
Playtomic6,50065325Club by club at first — their access is self-serve, so a club can connect us without Playtomic's involvement.
MatchPoint1,4001470Through MatchPoint themselves. The introduction is already offered.
Padel Mates300315On the back of Beaulieu as a live reference on their own platform.
Total addressable8,20082410The fleet model runs from 10 clubs to 100. 8,200 is the pool it draws from.

Club counts as attributed in the first section. The 1% and 5% columns are arithmetic on those counts, not a forecast — no conversion rate has been observed yet, because no rail has been sold into. Per-club economics are in the revenue model.

What makes this hard

The three things that could slow it down

RISK 01

Playtomic's traffic limit

Playtomic allows roughly one request a minute. A club taking twenty calls an hour would exhaust that on lookups alone.

The answer is already how we work: we hold a copy of the club's data and refresh it on a schedule, so an incoming call reads our own records in milliseconds and never touches Playtomic. That is exactly what runs at Beaulieu today.

RISK 02

None of them let us write

All three are read-only. Lily cannot make or cancel a booking on any of them — she can only tell a member what is true and send them to the right place.

It has not been the blocker it sounds like. Almost every call to a club is a question, not an instruction. The one thing it does cost us is filling a court in one step, and that is a partnership conversation rather than an engineering one.

RISK 03

A rail could decide to build this

Playtomic has the players and the money to try. So could MatchPoint.

The defence is the position, not the features. A rating and a player history that follow someone between clubs cannot be built by a company that only sees its own clubs — and no rail is going to read its two competitors' data. It is the one thing that is easier for us than for any of them.
